Since we have been having some full lobbies I wanted to reiterate how those in the Top 10 will be guaranteed a spot each week so they will not miss a race and their chance to race for the championship. "The 1st race of the League will be First Come / First Served. After that the top 10 in points will be guaranteed a spot in the next week's race. If the lobby becomes full and one of the top ten in points is trying to get in then the person in the lobby who is lowest in points or no points will be asked to exit the lobby. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. This has not happened yet so please get in the lobby early to get a spot." _____________________________________________________________________________ 12/19/24 The Gr.4 League will resume on Wednesday 1/8/25 after the holidays. ____________________________________________________________________________ 3/25/24 It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of greenT_racing. He passed away late this afternoon. He had been in the hospital for 10 days. Luckily his wife and kids made it from Oregon to Kansas City Missouri late last night and got to see him in time. I will miss my friend of many years. green started racing with me back on GT6 and maybe GT5. I will miss the racing, golfing, farming, GTA 5 and the conversations. ____________________________________________________________ 1/18/24 Gr.3 League under way. You can still join. I want to thank everyone who has participated in the races on GT Sport over the last few years. Without you all there would be no races. Had lots of great times on sport and made a lot of new friends over the years, See you next Wed on GT7. They journey continues. _______________________________________________________________________________________ 1/1/2022 It is with a saddened heart that I report the sudden passing of Shannon Curran (scrc0303 on Gran Turismo). Shannon passed away on New Years Eve. I do not have any details other than xyster250 informing me tonight. If I hear what happened I will let you all know in the next party chat we are in. I don't want to post here without permission. I have never met Shannon in person but we have been talking on the PlayStation weekly since early 2011. I met Shannon through xyster250 (Tommy) on Gran Turismo 5. We raced many times a week back then and still raced almost every week since then. I considered him a friend and I will miss him a lot. The weekly races and conversation will not be the same without him. I ask that you keep his family in your prayers as they go through this very difficult time. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 8/10/2021 We are still racing on GT Sport each Wed night. I will still be running races every Wednesday at the normal league times but will be just a variety of racing. ___________________________________________________________________________ How to clear the cache on your PS4 PlayStation 4 Clearing Cache The PlayStation 4 doesn't have a specific menu option to clear cache. However, you can force the cache to be cleared by doing the following: Turn off your PlayStation 4. Do not enter Rest Mode. Once the indicator light on top of your PlayStation 4 is off and has stopped blinking, unplug the power cord from the back of your console. Wait at least 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back into your PlayStation 4 and turn it on. If you suspect that data is corrupt, you can delete it from your hard drive. Please note: Deleting saved game data is permanent and cannot be undone. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you back up your saved game data to online storage or a USB storage device before deleting it. Follow these steps to access the System Storage and delete game data: Open the Settings menu at the top of the dashboard. Select Storage, then select System Storage. Select Saved Data. Choose a game to access the game’s saved data. Press the Options button and select Delete. More details to come. _________________________________________________________________________________ August 29, 2018: Changing your DNS Servers (Domain Name Server) Here is how to switch your DNS settings. Switching to Google DNS or OpenDNS servers can help. Had a few members getting disconnects and this helped them. Your ISP providers DNS can be too slow sometimes causing you to get a disconnect. Try the following. It won't hurt anything and might help. I use them and it seems to be more stable. I have Spectrum Cable and they even recommended this to me. Doubled my download speed on the PS4. 01) Go to the Settings Menu on the PS4 02) Network Settings 03) Internet Connection Settings 04) OK 05) Custom 06) Wired or Wireless (wired is preferred if you can) 07) Auto-Detect 08) IP Address Setting = Automatic 09) DHCP = Do Not Set 10) DNS Setting = Manual 11) Primary DNS = 208.67.222.222 is OpenDNS or 8.8.8.8 to use Google DNS (I prefer Google) 12) Secondary DNS = 208.67.220.222 is OpenDNS or 8.8.4.4 to use Google DNS (I prefer Google) 13) MTU = Automatic (default is 1500) MTU Note: For GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2 - If you change your MTU to 800 and then start GTA V or Red Dead Redemption 2 it will put you in a Public Server but by yourself. This will allow you to complete missions and business sales without getting grieved by other players. I use it all the time. Once done you can exit the game and then reset your MTU back to 1500 and resume normal play. Your friends can join this lobby as well on GTA V to help you out. It seems on RDR2 you will always be alone. Remember not to change your MTU settings while in a game. Exit all games before making the change and then start the game again. This can also be found online by searching google. 14) Proxy Server = Do Not Use 15) MTU = Automatic 16) UPnP = Enable 17) Press X to save _________________________________________________________________________________ August 15, 2018: Tonight 8/15 - Wed League practice. Normal league times. N600 cars only. No other class tuned up or down in power or wieght. Check that your cars power and weight are at 100% and if it shows it to be as N600 then you good to go. We will be running shorter races. I want to run a mini league tonight to test the new tire handicap system we will be trying out this league. 10 minute races. I would like to get about 6 races in and see how the point standing play out while changing tire compounds. See the original post for details. I hope to be back by Wed August 8th. If not I will let you know. I was not thinking when I made the schedule that I would be out of town during the league. Sorry for the inconvenience and delay for the last race of this league. _________________________________________________________________________________ July 14, 2018: Monday Multi-Class League (Still in development) We will have Gr.1, Gr.3, and Gr.4 Cars on the track at the same time. Will have 5 cars from each class with the 16th spot available to any class. Each class will be racing for points and wins for their class. Many details to work out and those will be coming in the next few weeks. _________________________________________________________________________________ June 29, 2018: Thinking of implementing a handicap system for the next league. The idea is to keep the racing competitive for all and not having a winner by race 5 or 6. Would like the last race to determine the overall winner. Not sure how it will actually work but here is the initial idea. It is based on tire compounds and your point standings. 1st - 5th place on hards, 6th - 10th place on mediums, 11th - 16th on softs. No tire wear to keep the tire grip consistent throughout the race. Fuel will still be set so you have to make 1 stop at least. I am still in the early stages of this idea and some testing will have to be done to see if it even works like I am intending.
